Shuttter Speed 2

After hitting his older brother in the previous set, this was payback big time.

Shutter Speed

My two boys helped me here, they had fun, want to do it everyday.
During the tacking of these photos none of the people were hurt, other than their pride.

Bird

colorful bird, caught whilst playing with shutter speed

Moving on slightly from close up, trying to learn camera settings this was working with shutter speed.

Spider Photos continued

I photographed a spider

Back to where it all started. As stated in my first post of this blog, it was trying to photograph a spider that started my quest, to learn close up photography.
This set of photos represents a great personal achievement, the spider was suspended from its web, and I managed to capture it.
Not sure, it may have been dead or it played the part well.

Snails

Now I am happy with these photos, love these models they move at a speed even I can handle.

Bubbles

Yes, I know, great photo of a plate and silver tray.
Well that seemed a waste of time. mmmh!

Are all photographers crazy?

It was 3:30 am, the wife and children are fast asleep, I am in the kitchen trying to get dishwashing liquid to foam up on a plate, so I can take a photo of bubbles. So the question is ‘are all photographers crazy.’? Or just the try hard, wannabes.
Please give me advice, is this what photography does to people or is it time to seek psychiatric help?
The next post will include the photos, if I actually caught anything other than a plate.

Working with light: Part 2

Ok so my 20 cent baking dish didn't make me any better at photography.

Happy with this photo, not sure if it is possible to remove all shadows.

Cross section of a Nordson glue gun, happy with photos, however no real magnification. Different lighting though loks ok on both.

Magnification here is excellent, focus not 100%.

I don't mind this photo, however still need to sort out shadows and lighting. Not too bad though for a 20 cent baking dish and a cheap lamp.
Do you need big money to get good photos?

All of these photos were taken on a white piece of paper,
so although happy with result, I guess they are not the true colors (colours for the Aussies).
Different spelling, don't we both speak english?

Working with light: Part 1

Australian $2 coin, paper clip and bolt.
Working on reflecting some of the light back to reduce shadows.
Used a tin foil baking dish, may be better if I buy something that is meant for the purpose.

Australian $2 coin, just by changing the position of the light, 2 different effects.

Not really sure which looks the better of the two.

I am reasonably happy with these two photos of a bolt. I have minimized shadow.

Electronic Close Up

The black ring around this does not look real good, apart from doctoring it in PhotoShop don't know how to fix it.

Center of photo not in focus like it should be???
Center this time was in focus but shadow down the bottom does not help. Having a lot of problems with shadows??

Cut the best part of this photo out in PhotoShop, however not as good as I would like it to be.
